Plan your transport
Go through the enquiry based on the specific shipment: are all units travelling assigned, do the dimensions apply to the current packaging, do the contacts know the project, are collection release and receiving window confirmed? Open details get a responsible contact and an expected date. Save the version sent internally so that later changes can build on it.
The five blocks of a complete enquiry
Goods: exactly what, in what condition, with which accessories. Packages: number, dimensions, weight, stackability. Locations: collection and destination address with gate, ramp and contact. Dates: readiness for collection, requested date, fixed and flexible times. Responsibilities: handling equipment on site, releases, goods value and desired cover. Covering these five blocks helps reduce follow-up questions when preparing the quotation.
What may remain open
Final crate dimensions, the exact time or the final receiving contact may be open at first, as long as they are marked as open. Route, type of goods and a rough idea of dimensions and weight should not remain open – without them no meaningful assessment is possible.
What matters
- Have purchasing check references and shipping check packages
- Compare stated dimensions with the current packaging
- Give open details an owner and a date
