Plan your transport

The dispatching department confirms the values and marks whether they are weighed, calculated or estimated. Assign each weight to a package reference in kilograms. If a different container is used or accessories are added, check the weight again. We match weight and dimensions with the handling equipment at both locations – for example whether a forklift, tail lift or pallet truck is sufficient.

Weighed, calculated or estimated

A weighed value is reliable, a value calculated from the data sheet plus packaging is usually workable, and an estimate is enough for a first quotation. What matters is that the enquiry shows which case applies. We then plan with a margin where necessary and confirm the transport firmly once the weighed value is available.

Weight and handling equipment belong together

Whether a package can be moved by hand, with a pallet truck, forklift or tail lift depends on its weight and centre of gravity. So alongside the weight, state which handling equipment is available at collection and destination. If something is missing, we clarify the solution before the order.

What matters

  • Relate the weight to the fully packed package
  • Show clearly whether weighed, calculated or estimated
  • Recheck the weight after packaging changes
