Location and handover point

Haifa and Ashdod are separate port locations and should not be treated as the customer’s delivery address. Make a port mandatory only where this has actually been agreed. Otherwise, the address, cargo type and requested delivery scope form the starting point for assessment. For time-sensitive shipments, establish the receiving department, unloading needs and arrangements for rescheduling before any transport commitment is made.

Planning example for this task

Bring purchasing and engineering together in one item list: component identifier, released condition, packaging and order reference. Matched parts must remain identifiable even when they originate from different sites.

Where does the requested leg end?

Separate a possible terminal point from the final address. For each handover, identify who releases and receives the goods and who arranges the next move. A port name alone does not define a transport route.

What matters

  • Give the port preference separately from the warehouse address.
  • Add receiving hours and a contact for appointment changes.
  • Describe unloading equipment and packaging requirements.
  • Record component and order reference for each package
  • Distinguish engineering release from collection readiness
  • Clarify receiving authority and cover for each site
Sources and their scope

Sources describe countries or individual locations. They do not confirm a transport service or an available date. Access and execution must be agreed for the actual job.
